Gotham New Media is a company that specialises in accelerated keyboard training and Repetitive Strain Injury protection.
CEO and Founder Mark Meakings has worked extensively in the training industry for many years and previously built a national training business around pre-programmed training methods he conceived and developed. Through feedback from over 18,000 people a year using his training courses, Mark realised that many of them needed to learn basic keyboard skills. He researched the problem and discovered that most methods used were based around the old fashioned drilling methods originally developed for the manual typewriter. They took people around 15 hours to master.He set about inventing a new method to take the slog out of learning and conceived of KAZ. He chose this name to stand for Keyboard A to Z. He reasoned that people weren't interested in clever programs with games, graphs, analysis and dozens of lessons. If you want to learn, you want to do it quickly and then just get on with using your PC.He was apparently right. KAZ has captured the imagination of many thousands of people giving them confidence and the pleasure that comes with using a PC without having to pick around their keyboards in frustration.
Mark designed KAZ Guardian Angel to be of benefit to people once they had learned to type. This unique program watches over the use of the keyboard and mouse, providing micro breaks and longer pauses with exercises to help prevent Repetitive Strain Injury.
